Our innovative candles transform into small gardens after burning, creating a unique added value for you and the environment.
The Magic of Soy Wax Candles
Did you know that soy wax is one of the most revolutionary discoveries in candle-making history? At Lumond, we use this special wax for our candles. Unlike paraffin, which is a byproduct of the petroleum industry, soy wax comes from a renewable source. The advantages of our candles speak for themselves: an above-average burning time and particularly clean combustion with 95% less soot than traditional candles.
Our Fragrance Creations
Each fragrance tells its own story. When you light the “Lime Basil and Citrus” candle, you experience the freshness of a Mediterranean garden. The combination was created through collaboration with French perfumers who worked for months to achieve the perfect balance.
The “Sea Salt Sage” candle takes you to the coast of Brittany. The salty sea breeze mingles with wild sage – a scent inspired by real natural experiences.
We are particularly proud of our “Amber” creation. The warm, inviting scent develops over hours. First, you perceive the woody notes, later sweet, powdery nuances unfold. We achieve this complexity through a special layering technique.
From Candle to Blooming Oasis
The special feature of your Lumond candle: it transforms. After about 45 hours of burning time (for the 220g version) or 75 hours (for the 440g version), its second life phase begins. The high-quality ceramic vessel was specially designed to later serve as a plant pot.
The included seed paper contains a carefully selected mixture of native wildflowers. These seeds are just waiting to sprout in your new plant pot. After about 10-14 days, the first tender seedlings appear.
The Science Behind the Candle
The perfect candle is a science in itself. Our developers took over two years to find the ideal mixture. The result: A special soy wax formula that ensures even burning. The wick is made of braided organic cotton – three strands that ensure optimal capillary action.
The burning temperature is exactly 185 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, the fragrances evaporate optimally without losing their complex structure. Additionally, the wax melts evenly to the edge.

Sustainable Production
Sustainability plays the main role in our production process. The soy wax comes from controlled cultivation without genetic engineering. The ceramic vessels are produced in a traditional manufactory where high-quality craftsmanship meets modern technology. Our energy concept is also interesting: The heat from melting the wax is captured and used to heat the workshop. This saves about 12 tons of CO2 annually.
Using Candles Correctly
The first burn is crucial for your candle’s further burning behavior. Plan at least three hours for this. During this time, an even wax pool forms to the edge. This prevents “tunneling” – the unattractive hollowing of the candle center.
A fascinating fact: The flame of a candle reaches temperatures of up to 1,400 degrees Celsius at its core. Nevertheless, the external temperature of the ceramic vessel remains pleasantly mild. Read all about the fascinating heat of a candle flame in our article.

Candle Care Secrets
Small details make the difference. The wick should be trimmed to 6mm before each lighting. A wick that’s too long leads to increased soot formation and uneven burning.
The optimal burning time is between 2 and 4 hours. During this time, the fragrance notes can fully develop. The heavier base notes slowly rise and mix with the lighter top notes.
From Candle to Garden
The ceramic vessel is coated with a special glaze that is optimal for plants. The porous structure ensures balanced air circulation for the roots. Our included seed paper contains seasonal seed mixtures that are perfect for your new planting vessel. With Jasmine candles, for example, you’ll find seasonally appropriate native fragrant plants that attract butterflies.
Our Environmental Promise
Every Lumond candle is part of a bigger plan. We work with local beekeepers who use our wildflower seeds for their bee colonies. This creates a cycle: flowers grow from your candle, which in turn provide habitat for insects.
We are already developing new, exciting concepts for the future. Soon, for example, there will be candles whose vessels are made from recycled glass. We are also working on edible seed paper variants.
At Lumond, we blend artisanal craftsmanship with environmental responsibility. Our Growing Candles share unique fragrance stories while creating a path toward a greener future.
